Trust

Trust in and rely confidently
on the Lord with all your heart
And do not rely
on your own insight or understanding.
In all your ways know and
acknowledge and recognize Him,
And He will make your paths straight and smooth
[removing obstacles that block your way].”
Proverbs 3:5-6 amp

Do you really trust God or just say you do? Have you memorized Proverbs 3:5-6 to hold you strong through the storms of life? Do you cling to His promise to “make your paths straight”?

I certainly have.

Do you trust the Lord to provide all your needs? Philippians 4:19

Do you trust Him to always be with you? Deuteronomy 31:8; Joshua 1:9b; Matthew 28:20

Do you trust Him to give you the strength you need? Philippians 4:13

Do you trust that He will hear your prayers, heal your hurts, and comfort your broken heart?

I certainly do.

Do you trust His commands as much as His promises? Do you sometimes question the commands contained in His Word? Do you trust and obey?

If you love me, you will obey my commands… Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me…” John 14:15, 21 ~ “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love…” John 15:10 ~ Loving God means keeping his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome. 1 John 5:3

Not just the “10 Commandments” and other Old Testament commands given, but those Jesus gave, those Paul brought before us.

Do a review of Matthew chapters 5-7 (Sermon on the Mount). Don’t forget His last words to the disciples and to us, “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

Pause and consider the commands for living from Romans 12:10-20. Galatians. Ephesians. Philippians. Colossians.

Do you TRUST the Lord with all your heart enough to deny your own understanding, your own fears, and your own selfish desires to OBEY Him?
